Dear Prattle Listeners,
First of all, thank you so much for your interest in The Prattle Sports Podcast! My name is Toby Custer, and I am the man behind this podcast. Over 2 years ago, I was approached by 3 of my high school friends about starting a sports podcast. I loved to talk and eat, breathe, and sleep sports, so I was 100% in. Over the next year, we had the chance to interview many athletes, including Iggy Brazdeikis, Ben St-Juste, David DeJulius, and more. Over time, the other members of the podcast got busy and unfortunately left, the operation. On many occasions I thought about hanging it up. We had a good run, but the work needed to run a successful podcast is immense, and I too was crazy busy in college. However, about 3 months into the hiatus after the last member decided to hang it up, I received a DM back from former U of M PF/C Jordan Morgan, saying he would love to come on the show. I was stoked! I prepared for over 20 hours for the interview, and was so nervous because I had never used any of the equipment necessary and was afraid that it was going to fail on me. However, everything went incredibly smoothly, and a burning desire to continue the podcast overwhelmed me. In the year and a half since that interview, I have now rebranded to be entirely U of M based, and have interviewed some of the biggest names at Michigan (over 60 players in total!) I grew up the hugest Michigan fan, literally memorizing football rosters and reenacting famous TDs in my yard for hours and hours. To say the least, this is a dream come true. You guys do not understand how amazing it is for me to talk to childhood heroes, as well as players that are playing at Michigan right now. The support from the Michigan sports community has been overwhelming, and the fact that we are consistently in the top 200 for sports podcasts in the country is INSANE (for perspective, there are over 50 ESPN podcasts alone). To go from nothing to this is amazing, but the real joy for me is the fact that I am able to meet a new player every week and build real relationships with these people. Priceless for me. Again, thank you for checking out the website! Recently I took on an intern named Pranay and he put a ton of work into the site as well, so my thanks to him. Go Blue!
